Managed Yacht & Boat Care
A managedcare programfor serious boats.
For owners who want the boat handled rather than scheduled. A recurring program covering exterior and interior care, protection cycles, corrosion control, systems checks and coordination with your mechanic, canvas shop and yard — with one point of contact and a maintenance record you can hand to a buyer.
- 40ft+ and multi-deck
- Assigned crew
- Systems & corrosion checks
- Documented history
Who this is for
Boats that are too large, too complex, or too valuable to be looked after on an ad-hoc basis. A 48ft flybridge has teak, multiple deck levels, a hardtop, enclosure canvas, an engine room, tender, davit, air conditioning, watermaker and a couple of hundred stainless fittings — all degrading on different clocks. Booking a detail twice a year does not manage that.
It's also for owners who simply don't want to manage vendors. Most yacht owners are coordinating a detailer, a mechanic, a canvas company, an electronics tech and a yard, and are effectively working as their own project manager. This program means one call.
What the program covers
- Scheduled exterior wash, dry and waterline care at your chosen frequency
- Interior care: soles, upholstery, heads, galley, staterooms
- Protection cycle management — wax, sealant or ceramic topper on schedule
- Teak cleaning, brightening and oiling or sealing as specified
- Stainless and brightwork polishing and sealing on rotation
- Isinglass and enclosure care with plastic-safe products only
- Engine room rinse, dry, degrease and corrosion inhibitor
- Bilge cleaning and pump function checks
- Anode inspection and replacement scheduling
- Canvas, upholstery and sealant condition reporting
- Pre-trip readiness prep and post-charter turnaround
- Storm prep: canvas strike, hatch checks, lines and fenders
How the program is run
1. Full vessel survey
We document every surface and system with photos and build a condition baseline — including the things that are already failing, so nothing gets blamed on us later or ignored.
2. Care plan
A written annual plan: what happens weekly, monthly, quarterly and annually, with the protection cycle and haul-out windows mapped in.
3. Assigned crew
The same team every visit. On larger vessels that means people who know where your shore power runs, which hatch leaks, and which fender rubs.
4. Reporting
Photo report after every visit and a quarterly condition summary flagging anything that needs a decision or a specialist.
5. Vendor coordination
We schedule and supervise mechanics, canvas, electronics and yard work so you're not chasing five contractors. You approve; we coordinate.
6. Documented history
Everything is logged. At resale, a complete maintenance record is one of the few things that reliably moves the number in your favour.
Typical service cadence
| Interval | Work |
|---|---|
| Weekly / bi-weekly | Exterior wash, dry, waterline, glass, cockpit, engine room rinse |
| Monthly | Interior detail, vinyl conditioning, stainless polish, bilge check |
| Quarterly | Protection topper, teak service, enclosure care, anode inspection |
| Annually | Full correction as needed, coating renewal, comprehensive survey |
Why documented care pays for itself
Two identical boats hit the brokerage market and one has a folder: service records, photos, coating warranties, anode replacements, corrective work. That boat surveys cleaner, negotiates harder and sells faster. The other one gets discounted for everything a surveyor finds.
Between resale value, avoided corrections, and the corrosion problems caught at the point where they cost a hundred dollars rather than several thousand, a managed program is not a luxury line item. It's the cheaper way to own the boat.
What it costs
Every program is custom. Pricing depends on length, layout, teak, storage, use pattern and how much vendor coordination you want. We survey the boat, propose a written annual plan, and quote a flat monthly figure with the scheduled deep work included.

Questions people actually ask
What size boat does this make sense for?
Generally 40ft and up, or any boat with a flybridge, teak, an enclosure and an engine room. Below that, our recurring wash program plus scheduled detailing usually covers it at a lower cost.
Do you handle mechanical work too?
We handle scheduled engine maintenance including 300-hour services, plus corrosion control and systems checks. Major repairs, electronics and yard work we coordinate and supervise with trusted vendors rather than pretending to do everything ourselves.
Can you prep the boat before I arrive?
Yes — pre-trip readiness is part of the program. Boat washed, canvas set, interior fresh, ice aboard if you want it. Post-trip turnaround the same way.
What happens during hurricane season?
The plan includes a storm protocol: canvas and enclosures struck, loose gear secured, hatches and seals checked, lines and fenders doubled, plus a post-storm inspection and freshwater wash-down.
Is there a minimum term?
We ask for three months so the plan has time to show results, then it's month to month. You can pause it for haul-outs or extended travel.

A scheduled wash program is the single highest-return money you can spend on a boat. Salt that gets rinsed off every two weeks never etches. Waterline scum that never sits never needs acid. Gelcoat that stays protected never needs compounding. This is the service that stops you paying for the expensive ones.
Read moreMost outboard and sterndrive manufacturers set a major service interval at 300 hours (or every three years, whichever comes first). It's the big one: gear oil, water pump, plugs, filters, valve inspection and a full corrosion audit. Miss it and you are gambling a powerhead against the cost of a service.
Read moreA professionally applied ceramic coating puts a hard, chemically bonded layer over your gelcoat, paint, stainless and glass. Salt rinses off instead of etching in, waterline scum releases with a wipe, and UV hits the coating rather than the pigment underneath. Done correctly in a controlled prep, it lasts years — not the weeks you get from wax.
